The lighting designers, Akari-Lisa Ishii and Motoko Ishii are invited by the organizer to present the latest trends in lighting at the Maison & Objet trade fair every September. This leading Japanese-French mother-daughter lighting designer duo has produced the official M&O LIGHT TREND exhibition for the past 11 years (2013 to 2023 editions).
Thanks to mastered know-hows and constantly renewed creativity, the designers imagine a new original theme each year. For visitors, it is a luminous experiential journey, combining art, tips, technics... to be rediscovered each year. It is also an educational trip to learn and appreciate technologies such as new control systems, and lighting atmospheres.
The strolling type stand represents a journey of light and sensitivity through artistic and educational of the fair installations. Visitors will not only learn about and appreciate the technologies and new control systems, but will also discover lighting ambiences that will leave a lasting impression.
In 2024, the theme of the exhibition is: Enlightening Terra Cosmos
LIGHT TREND aims to:
- present the latest news in lighting design;
- discover the know-how of world-famous lighting designers;
- suggest integration of light and fixtures in interior design;
- offer exclusive lighting experiences, created just for this occasion;
- share the experiences with opinion-leaders in the decoration field from all over the world.
In order to demonstrate light and objects, in a wide range of artistic expressions, they collaborate with manufacturers from Japan and Europe as partners to develop various materials combined with light with cutting-edge creations. They thus present “the musts” to know and apply as latest lighting trend to the visitors and journalists, including opinion-leaders from all over the world.
This official exhibition on today’s lighting design consists of a subtle blend of technology and artistic expression. A double vision that comes from not only the universal technical contribution, but also conceptions from European and Japanese cultures —- the force of our two creators.
The latest trends and international high-end manufacturers of not only lighting fixtures but also materials, furniture, objects, etc. allied to light are presented in our stand.
Thanks to the evolution of technology, lighting plays a more and more important role in interior design, especially in the luxury market.
It is therefore not surprising that Maison & Objet is dedicating an official exhibition and developing this close partnership with the designers in order to promote it to visitors from all over the world.
A large stand of approximately 100m2, strategically placed in hall 7 near the other official exhibition spaces of the fair, along the red carpet, reflects this global strategy, as well as the important PR campaign.
